Reading Assemblies - The Hodgeheg and Stig of the Dump

          

For the KS1 Reading Assembly this week, Miss Myers read some of The Hodgeheg. After attempting to cross the road, hedgehog Max, suffers a bump to the head, causing him to muddle his words. The story teaches us about road safety as Max tries to understand how humans cross the road.

For the KS2 Reading Assembly, Miss Brimmer read an extract from Stig of the Dump. This modern-day classic is a firm favourite. The story follows bored schoolboy, Barney, who meets a caveman named Stig living in a rubbish dump.
