Book of the Week
The Book of the Week last week was You and Me and the Peanut-Butter Beast by Andy Griffiths. Hey you - yes, you! Remember when we found that really deep hole and you jumped in and I had to rescue you, and at the bottom of the hole we found the cave of the legendary peanut-butter beast? That was one of our deepest - and most dangerous - adventures ever! What? You don't remember? Well, have I got a story for you...

Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, library Chatterbooks groups continued with Chatterbox BearEveryone loved making their own bear masks or getting creative with pictures of the characters from the story.

The Book of the Week last week was Princess DisGrace: First Term at Tall Towers by Lou Kuenzler. It's Grace's first term and she can't wait to make friends, meet her unicorn and learn how to be the perfect princess. If only Grace wasn't the clumsiest pupil Tall Towers has ever had... Can Grace prove that being a real princess is about more than being perfect?

Lunchtime library club
Last Monday, the children took part in designing their favourite Character Costume. They all came up with some very creative designs. Everyone was excited to add another sticker onto their Library Cards. On Wednesday, the children also came along to our quiet reading session. A big well done to Elizabeth, who was the first to collect five stickers and choose a prize.

Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, the KS1 Chatterbooks groups continued with The True Story of The 3 Little Pigs! They enjoyed acting out the story with masks and made their own house.

The KS2 Chatterbooks groups continued enjoying the Chatterbox Bear. They all got creative, making their own Chatterbox Bear masks with crazy eyebrows!

Library Displays
February is Michael Morpurgo month. Michael is one of Britain's best loved authors for children. We have great selection of his books available for children to borrow from the library.

Last Friday, 7th February, was the birthday of Charles Dickens, one of the most influential writers of the 19th century. He is most known for his classic novels, like Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol and Great Expectations. We have a range of his books available in the library for borrowing.

Special Librarian Award certificates were given to Faramade and Princess from Year 6 last week. Lunchtime library clubs
Last week, we spoke about the importance of rules and behaviour while in the library. The children took ownership of the task and worked on their own rules, coming up with some lovely, creative ideas in the form of LIBRARY acrostics.

Library displays

Make SPACE for reading...
From 4th-10th October, we celebrated World Space Week in the library, with a super display about space and a selection of space-related books for all ages - some of these books you will find in our 105 Books to Read Trackers.

New in the Library
A book a day keeps the monsters away...
The children have loved seeing the scary changes added to the Library ready for Halloween.
We have a SPOOKTACULAR selection of Halloween books for all ages that the children can borrow.
Why not get wrapped up in a good book?!?

Visitors to the library
Last week, our Chatterbooks library sessions continued with a new group of children from each class. Our KS1 children have started listening to the story Funnybones and are very excited to begin their activity this week.

The KS2 groups are enjoying The Rainbow Fish, taking part in a shared reading of the book, answering group questions about the story and making their own Rainbow Fish using rainbow scratch notes.

The Chatterbooks sessions are proving to be very popular with all the children around the school. It is so lovely to see everyone getting excited when we go to pick the new group from each class!

A special Librarian certificate was awarded last week to Amari, who had such fun taking part in his Chatterbooks session that he even persuaded Mrs Nicholls to enjoy reading Man on the Moon with him too!

Each week, we also take a variety of books to Nursery and read to a group of children during both the AM and PM sessions. We are so happy to be able to give all children in the school an opportunity to listen to a story, complete fun activities and share the joy of reading.

Book reviews
Jessica in Year 5 recommended How to Scare a Ghost by Jean Reagan. Her favourite part was when the ghost and children scared the parents.

105 Books reading achievements
Well done to Isaac, Mason, Tyla-Beau, Amelia, George and Elyssa who have read five books, earning their Bronze Certificates.

Well done to Elyssa, Ryan and Emir who have read 10 books, earning their Silver Certificates.

Well done to all!
