Havering Libraries Collage For National Libraries Day

With National Libraries Day coming up in February, Havering Libraries are asking local residents and schools to help create beautiful collages in each of their libraries. To create these collages they would like you to do one of the following;

Draw your favourite book character(s)
Describe one of your favourite stories
Design/draw a book cover

If you would like to create an illustration for the Havering Libraries Collage then please hand your completed work into your local library before Saturday 7th February so it can go on display. Our KS1 Spinebreakers will be making regular visits to Hilldene library over the coming weeks and are more than happy to deliver your work for you, just make sure you pass it on to Miss Sparkes by Monday 26th January 2015.

New Premier Reading League Starts Monday 12th January 2015!

Collect a sign-up sheet from the library and create a team for the Spring Term Premier Reading League! This time round the prize will be a trip to West Ham's Stadium to watch them play against Burnley on Saturday 2nd May 2015. Please note the fixture may change.

It's simple to get started! Here's how...

Create a team of 5 players (including yourself), give your team a name, design a team badge and then drop your team information off at the library.

To be in with a chance of winning you need to collect points...

One point will be awarded to the team for each book read. Three points will be awarded to the team when a team member writes a book review using their online account at: https://u009108.microlibrarian.net or records an audioboo book review (please see Miss Sparkes for use of the library iPad). Six points can be collected if you complete an additional reading challenge from the library. Click on the links below to find out about the other reading challenges that are currently running...
