Thank you so much to everyone who purchased books at our Book Fair last week.

Together, your purchases enabled us to buy

42 new books!

These wonderful new books will be added to our school Library collection.

We have lots of very excited children who cannot wait to start reading them.

It's the final day of the Book Fair!




Today is the final day of the Book Fair! Thank you so much to everyone who has already purchased books. We are very grateful for your support.

If you haven't yet had the chance to visit, or would like to make another purchase, there are still lots of wonderful books available. Please come and see us for the final time in the Charlton hall (new hall) after school this afternoon from 3.15pm.

Books start from just £2.99. There is a special promotion of 3 books for the price of 2 (cheapest book free). There are lots of titles available to suit all children's ages.
 


If you are planning on making a purchase, we would be grateful for plenty of change if paying by cash.

Contactless payments can also be made by card or via mobile phone.

A percentage of the money raised will go towards new books for our school library, so please come along and show your support for our final day!

The Book Fair is also open TODAY after school and TOMORROW (Friday - last day), so please come and show your support by making a purchase! 

It will be held at the side entrance of the Charlton hall (new hall) after school from 3.15pm-3.30pm.

Books start from just £2.99. There is a special promotion of 3 books for the price of 2 (cheapest book free). There are still lots of titles available to suit all children's ages.

Book Fair 
Thank you so much to everyone who supported us by purchasing books at our Book Fair last week. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to add an amazing 56 new books to our library collection!



Raising Readers at Home
Our new, regular library blog series all about helping parents and carers to grow, encourage and nurture children's love of reading at home continued last week with tips on how your home can help create strong readers. You can read more here


Lunchtime library club
Last Wednesday, our lunchtime library club took part of a variety of VE Day/World War 2-related activities. Children also enjoyed completing the Reading Challenge to accompany it.



Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, the KS1 Chatterbooks groups continued with the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar! Everyone enjoyed a variety of activities. 


KS2 Chatterbooks groups last week continued enjoying There's A Snake In My School! by David Walliams. Everyone got creative and made lovely paper snakes!



Library displays
To commemorate last Thursday’s VE Day 80th anniversary, we displayed a wide selection of books about World War 2 for children to read, as well as a special Reading Challenge for them to take part in.



105 Books reading achievements
Well done to Gracie, Medhansh, Charlie and Zofia who have received their Bronze Certificates for reading five books.

Well done to Medhansh, Charlie, Luca and Zofia who have received their Silver Certificates for reading 10 books.

Well done to Charlie, Eason and Shivanshi who have earned their Gold Certificates for reading all 15 books! 

Well done to all!

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have had lots of lovely new books added to the library collection over the past couple of months but, unfortunately, many of them have been borrowed by children and never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.

The Book Fair Is Coming!
Please come and visit the Book Fair in the New Hall (Charlton). We will be there after school from 3:15pm this week from TODAY (Tuesday 6th May) until Friday 9th May. Lots of lovely books to buy with an exciting 3 for 2 offer (cheapest book free). We look forward to seeing you there


Raising Readers at Home
We have a new, regular library blog series all about helping parents and carers to grow, encourage and nurture children's love of reading at home. This series will offer tips, advice and ideas as well as simple steps you can take at home for your child to make reading fun and enjoyable. You can read our first feature with Top Tips for Reading at Home with your Child here


Lunchtime library club
Last Monday, our lunchtime library club was full of children enjoying lots of fun Minecraft-themed activities, including wordsearches, I-Spy and make your own bookmarks.  

On Wednesday, our lunchtime library club enjoyed some quiet reading. 



Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, the KS1 Chatterbooks groups listened to the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar! All of the groups discussed what delicious food they think their own Caterpillar would eat.


New KS2 Chatterbooks groups last week enjoyed shared reads of the fun book There's A Snake In My School! by David Walliams. All of the groups managed to get 10/10 in the questions at the end - super work everyone!



Spinebreakers
Our Year 2 Spinebreakers recently had an enjoyable trip to Harold Hill library, where they read stories and completed book reviews, took part in some shared reading and learnt how to use the library equipment to borrow and return books. Everyone had a great time!




Library displays
We have a lovely new selection of the popular Percy Jackson book series available for children to borrow.

Well done to Olivia and Harvey who has received their Bronze Certificates for reading five books.

Well done to Aarav who have earned his Gold Certificate for reading all 15 books!
