Reading Advent Calendar
After its huge popularity last year, Miss Flower has brought back the library Reading Advent Calendar for the month of December! This is displayed in a prominent position in the library for all children to access. Each school day leading up to the Christmas holidays, there is a reading challenge that children can take part in.

Examples so far this week have included 'Read a book beginning with A', 'Read a BLUE coloured book' and 'Read a book with AND in the title'.

The children are loving taking part, with lots coming to the library every morning to check what that day's challenge is. Not only is this a fun activity for them to enjoy but it also encourages them to try out new authors, genres and books that they may not have chosen otherwise.
All children who take part will have their name put in the draw to win a special prize!

Christmas Stories Advent
Last week, two Year 6 Spinebreakers, Gabby and Rojure, helped Miss Flower deliver an exciting package to every class in the school! These are a little treat for the month of December - three festive books for each class to read in the three weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays. All of the classes were very excited to be given their package and cannot wait to see what fun books they have received!

What a fun-packed first festive week!
