Summer Reading Challenges

There are plenty of ways to keep reading this summer - yesterday, you would have received a selection of leaflets and summer challenge sheets to keep you motivated during the holidays.

Like previous years, we have updated our summer reading tracker that includes a variety of reading activities to complete. If you return your completed tracker in September you will be rewarded with a special certificate and medal!
Why not take part in our annual Get Caught Reading Challenge? Last year we travelled over 35,000 miles, making sure we were snapped reading on our journeys. Send your photos to our Facebook page for your photo to be added to our Google Map and to feature on the school blog.

Look out for our Facebook questions of the week - these will go live every Friday. One winner who correctly answers the question will be selected at random and announced on the following Monday. Please make sure you include your child's name in the post so we know who to pass the prize on to. If you are answering on behalf of two or more children, please state all their names so we can allocate them a number for the draw.

Last, but definitely not least, there is the national reading challenge to take part in at your local library! The challenge is a space-themed adventure that encourages you to read at least six fiction or non-fiction books - that's just one a week! Along your reading journey, you'll receive a collector's folder, stickers, a bookmark, snakes and ladders game, a window sticker and kit bag!

Enjoy the summer break!

Get Caught Reading - Summer Competition

Get your cameras at the ready!
Get Caught Reading returns for the summer holidays. Simply send a photo of yourself reading in an unusual or exotic place to be in with the chance of winning some National Book Tokens when we return in September.

Don't forget to check out our Goggle Map to see how far and wide the pupils of Broadford travel during the holidays. Last year we travelled more than 35,000 miles!

Send your snaps to our Facebook page.

Harry Potter Studio Tour

To complete their Harry Potter course, the members of the club were treated to a special visit to The Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour. They went behind the scenes of the movies and saw how the magic is brought to life. They experienced life in Hogwarts as they explored the Great Hall. They took flight on broomsticks, and travelled aboard the Hogwarts Express.

They have enjoyed the movies this year, and tested their knowledge of the stories by competing in regular quizzes and competitions.
