Welcome to the Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter!
Each week, I will be bringing you a look back on the previous week in the library, including the fun that our lunchtime library clubs have had, new books, children's book reviews, library displays and much more!

Lunchtime library club
Last week, the lunchtime library club had enjoyed some lovely winter colouring sheets.

Book of the Week
The Book of the Week last week was The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher. William Trundle meets a dinosaur named the Christmasaurus on Christmas Eve! They set off on a magical adventure, featuring friendship and families, sleigh bells and Santa, singing elves and flying reindeer. This book is about discovering your heart's true desire, and learning that the impossible might just be possible...

Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, new library Chatterbooks groups enjoyed the funny and festive book, The Stinky Sprouts. All of the groups got creative, designing their own stinky sprout characters!

Spinebreakers
Last Thursday, the Year 5 Spinebreakers enjoyed a fun trip to Waterstones bookshop in Romford. You can read more about it here.

Festive fun in the library
The library became very festive last week! There is a wide selection of Christmas, festive and winter-themed books for all ages displayed all around the library for children to borrow, as well as the return of the popular Reading Advent Calendar. You can read more about the festive fun here.
New Books
Last week, children were thrilled to see a whole new set of the very popular Bad Guys series of books in the library available for borrowing!

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have so many lovely books in our library but, unfortunately, many of them get borrowed by a child and then never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
