Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter - 16/09/24

Welcome to the Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter!
Each week, we will be bringing you a look back on the previous week in the library, including the fun that our lunchtime library clubs have had, new books, children's book reviews, library displays and much more!
~ Miss Flower and Mrs Jobber, Librarians & Reading Champions ~

📚 WELCOME BACK! 📚

It has been lovely seeing so many children back in the library last week, excited to collect new books, discover new authors and genres, and take on new reading challenges. We are very much looking forward to the year ahead!

Book Fair

The Book Fair Is Coming!
Please come and visit this term’s Book Fair in the New Hall (Charlton). We will be there after school from 3:15pm on Tuesday 17th September until Friday 20th September. Lots of lovely books to buy with an exciting 3 for 2 offer. We look forward to seeing you there!

Library displays

Here at Broadford Library, we love Roald Dahl’s stories - his books are some of our most frequently borrowed. Tales of magical medicines, chocolate makers, scary witches, gentle giants, courageous foxes, champion boys, giant fruit and talking insects - there is something for everyone!

New in the library

We have added lots more new book series to our library collection, including The Worst Witch, Animal Rescue and Football.

Meet the New Spinebreakers

We are very pleased to introduce our new Spinebreakers for 2024/25!

Blue Peter Reading Badge

The Spinebreakers will be working to earn their Blue Peter Reading Badges!
Congratulations to one of our newest Spinebreakers, Charlie, for being the first to complete your Blue Peter Reading Badge application booklet.
Please can anyone else applying please return completed forms to the school Library.

See how you can take part here too.

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have had lots of lovely new books added to the library collection over the past couple of months but, unfortunately, many of them have been borrowed by children and never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
