Mr Cardwell read the opening chapters to a classic - Heidi. Written over a century ago, Heidi is set in the Swiss Alps and follows the story of a young orphan who is sent to the Swiss mountains to live with her grandfather. This book can be found on the Year 5 Reading Tracker.

Our super Spinebreakers, Jaxon, Alex, Shivanshi, Eason and Pragya spent time in the library yesterday afternoon to complete their sheets. Jaxon has been reading 'The Atlas of Monsters', he was keen to write about his favourite characters. Shivanshi wrote about her love for the Harry Potter series and how the first book made her want to read more and more. Alex shared his thoughts on David Walliams's book, Gangsta Granny. Billionaire Boy was the book Eason chose to write about and Pragya told the story of Moody Margret.
If you'd like to earn your own Blue Peter Reading Badge, pick up an entry form for the library or print one here.
