Year 2 Spinebreakers Visit Waterstones!

Before the half term, our Year 2 Spinebreakers visited Waterstones in Romford to purchase a selection of books which would be suitable for their peers. During our visit, we were very kindly greeted by store manager, Sultana, who gifted us a bag of goodies!

Take a look at their choices...

Drawn in by their vibrant front covers, Lucas's top picks were Christine McGuiness's 'Amazing Me, Amazing You' and the fabulous 'Llama Glamarama!

Qhaleed loves the Supertato series, so when he saw 'Mean Green Time Machine', he just knew children across the school would love it too! His second choice was Kim Hillyard's story 'Mabel and the Mountain', a story about believing in yourself.

With Fathers' Day just around the corner, Anya wanted a story that celebrates dads, that's why her first pick was 'Amazing Dad' by Alison Brown. 'Harriet', the story of the strongest girl in the world was her second choice.

Maya-Aisha chose two stories to make her laugh - 'The Princess with the Flaming Bottom' and 'Baby's First Jailbreak'. Mulberry Class have already borrowed the first of the two and thought it was hilarious!

Like Anya, Tyler wanted a story to read in the lead up to Fathers' Day, so he chose 'Daddy Do My Hair, Beth's Twists'. His second pick was 'The Girl and The Dinosaur'.

Nyasa chose two woodland-set stories - 'Little Lost Fox' and 'Peter Rabbit, Hide and Seek'. I can't wait to read these myself!

These are the extra books we were gifted!

Of course, no visit to Waterstones would be complete with a trip to the W Cafe for cakes and hot chocolate!
