 Broadford Library in numbers
It has been an extremely busy first half term in the library, with lots of groups, activities and events taking place!

Lunchtime library club
Last week in our lunchtime library club, the children enjoyed a spooky session with a lovely mix of activities to choose from. Everyone was keen to complete all the worksheets. We particularly loved seeing all the creativity that went into the monsters that they designed.

Library displays
Happy Diwali to all those who celebrate it.

New in the Library
Our Year 6 Spinebreakers had a lovely trip to Waterstones in Romford where they purchased some wonderful new books to add to our library collection.

Chatterbooks Sessions
Last week, the KS1 Chatterbooks groups listened to the story There's a Witch in your book. They loved using their fingers as a magic wand while listening to the story, especially when they were able to turn the witch into a stinky cat. They also had the opportunity to colour their own witches hat.

The KS2 Chatterbooks groups enjoyed listening to Room on the Broom, while producing some lovely artwork of who they would have on their own broomsticks.
We are delighted to have been able to offer Chatterbooks sessions in the library to 315 children across the school already this academic year!

Book reviews
Darcie in Year 5 recommended When Cookie Crumbled by Michelle Robinson. After reading the book, Darcie said she had learnt "to be yourself".

105 Books reading achievements
Well done to Maya, Zara, Shivanshi and Aayush who have read five books, earning their Bronze Certificates.

Well done to Aayush who has read 10 books, earning his Silver Certificate.

Well done to all!
You can find the books from the 105 Books list for your child's year group here

Blue Peter Reading Badge
More Reading badge application forms have been posted! Well done to Ryan, Tala and Kindah for completing the task at home. Fingers crossed your badges arrive soon!

Earn your Blue Peter Reading Badge! See how you can take part here or pick up an entry form from the library.

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have had lots of lovely new books added to the library collection over the past couple of months but, unfortunately, many of them have been borrowed by children and never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
