Competition Winners - Where's Wally and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Reading Log

This term in the library we had a variety of competitions and challenges for the children to take part in.

One challenge was for pupils in years 1 and 2. They were set the task of completing, and logging, 10 hours of reading. Every child that handed in a completed reading log was entered into the prize draw. We would like to congratulate James Olatunji on being the lucky raffle winner! He has received a goody bag of books.

Our second competition was to create a 'Where's Wally?' scene with Wally hiding. Lillie Mersh's picture was chosen as the winning entry! Like James, she has also earned herself a goody bag full of books!

Well done to all those that entered this term's competitions. There will be more reading challenges available to take part in when we return to school in January.

Breakfast Club: Sending a Letter To Santa

In Breakfast Club we wrote a special letter to Santa wishing him a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Lots of our Breakfast Club members signed it, explaining how good they have been! This afternoon Siena and Laura helped to make sure our letter was sent off safely by taking it to our nearest post box.

Check Out These New Christmas Stories...

Back in October, you helped us raise money for our school by purchasing books from our Book Fair that the Spinebreakers helped to run. In total we raised £488 to spend on the Scholastic's website!

The Spinebreakers helped to choose a selection of new books to celebrate the Christmas season. We now have a larger selection of picture books that will really appeal to our pupils in Early Years and KS1, including stories with familiar characters like Norman the snail, Winnie the witch, Paddington and the aliens who love underpants. For our older readers, we have books by Enid Blyton, Frank Lampard, Daisy Meadows and Holly Webb.

Breakfast Club: Delicious Hot Chocolates!

This morning in Breakfast Club we served up more than 50 Hot Chocolates! The children enjoyed creating some very tasty toppings...
