Jacqueline Wilson's latest story, The Butterfly Club
'Tina is a triplet, but she's always been the odd one out. Her sisters Phil and Maddie are bigger and stronger and better at just about everything. Luckily, they look after teeny-tiny Tina wherever they go - but when the girls start in scary, super-strict Miss Lovejoy's class, they're split up, and Tina has to fend for herself for the first time.'

Frank Cottrell Boyce's, The Astounding Broccoli Boy
''Rory Rooney likes to be prepared for all eventualities. His favourite book is Don't Be Scared, Be Prepared, and he has memorised every page of it. He could even survive a hippo attack. He knows that just because something is unlikely doesn't mean it won't happen... But Rory isn't prepared when he suddenly and inexplicably turns green.'

Darkmouth by Shane Hegarty
'There are towns where the border between our world and the world of monsters - properly called Legends - is thin. One of those towns is Darkmouth. There, our hero Finn is the son of the last remaining Legend Hunter. Except... he's a bit rubbish at it. And in a spectacularly unfortunate coincidence, the terrifying leader of the monsters is in the midst of planning an all out attack on earth... in Darkmouth.'

And Mike Revell's, Stonebird
'When eleven-year-old Liam moves house to be closer to his grandma, he's thrown into an unfamiliar place, with a family that seems to be falling apart. Liam doesn't remember what Grandma was like before she became ill with dementia. He only knows the witch-like old woman who snaps and snarls and eats her birthday cards. Escaping the house one evening , Liam discovers an old stone gargoyle in a rundown church, and his life changes in impossible ways...'
