Blue Peter Reading Badges - Weekly Update!

We are pleased to announce that Aadya received her Blue Peter Badge in the post this week! Over the coming weeks, we are hoping to see more children wear their badges with pride.

Super Spinebreakers, Vanessa, Sophia and Aditi, visited the library yesterday afternoon to complete their entry forms. Vanessa wrote about her love for the story, Ruby's Worry. Vanessa explained how the main character, Ruby, discovers that by sharing a worry helps to make it shrink. When Vanessa has a worry, she talks to her best friend, Isabella.

Sophia wrote about 'Peppa Doctors and Nurses'. Sophia enjoys playing doctors and nurses with her sister at home, that's why she was keen to write about this story.

During their visits to our Library, the story 'The Unicorn and the Rainbow Poop' is very popular! The children love how the fairy tale folk work together to throw a party to cheer-up the unicorn. Aditi expressed how the story always makes her feel happy.

Don't forget, yopu can collect an entry form from our school library. You can visit Quiet Club to complete your form or take it home. If you receive a badge, make sure you let us know so we can celebrate your success!

Poor little Bernard! His parents are so busy that they fail to notice he has been eaten and replaced by a monster! This book can be found on the Year 1 Reading Tracker.

The Story Suitcases Have Left The Library!

We were so excited to see the Story Suitcases presented to Alice, Jaxon, Lily-Mae and Thomas during our weekly Reading Assemblies. Each pupil will keep their Story Suitcase for a week - giving them time to spend a cosy evening to struggle with the bear and share the story over a cup of hot chocolate.

Included in the suitcases, are scrapbooks for the children to record what they loved about the story. We hope they thoroughly enjoy the stories we have chosen this week. We look forward to presenting them to more children next week.

If you'd like to take home a suitcase for a week, see Mrs McFarlane or Mrs Jennings, who will add your name to the waiting list.

Check Out Our New Story Suitcases!

This week, we have introduced Story Suitcases to the library. There are four in total - one for Early Years, one for KS1, one for lower KS2 and one for upper KS2. Four children will be chosen each week to take a suitcase home. Each suitcase is filled with everything needed for a cosy reading session at home. The suitcases will be presented to pupils during our weekly reading assemblies.

This week the suitcases will be taken home with Alice, Jaxon, Lily-Mae and Thomas.

Here's a little sneak-peak inside the cases:
