Year 2 Spinebreakers visit Waterstones

Our Year 2 Spinebreakers had a lovely trip to Waterstones in Romford this morning. Their mission was to purchase new books for the school Library!

After choosing two books each, the children enjoyed tasty hot chocolates and sweet treats in the W Cafe.

The Spinebreakers were able to take one book each to enjoy at home before returning them to the school Library for other children to read as well. Great work everyone on choosing lots of lovely new books!

Reading Assemblies - This week, a rocket was found, and a huge insect dropped out of a trouser leg!

This week in KS1, Mrs Fayefunmi read "Whatever Next!". This book tells the story of Baby Bear, who finds a rocket, makes friends with an owl and has a picnic on the moon, all before bathtime!
You will find this book on the Year 1 105 book list, which you can see here

In KS2, Miss Kenealy read "Beetle Boy". This book tells the story of Darkus, who cannot believe his eyes when a huge insect drops out of the trouser leg of his horrible new neighbour. It's a giant beetle - and it seems to want to communicate!
This book features on the Year 6 105 book list, which you can see here
