World Book Day Is Coming!

Due to the ongoing strikes, we will be holding World Book Day on FRIDAY 3RD MARCH 2023!

The theme for this year is 'You are a Reader!' At Broadford, we love reading and thoroughly look forward to World Book Day every year. We have been busy making preparations for a day of book-themed fun! Here are just a few things we will are looking forward to:

Dress-Up

The change of date will not stop us from dressing up as our favourite story characters! We know that shop-bought costumes can be a little expensive, so why not try making something to wear instead... a character mask maybe? There will be prizes for the best dressed!

£1 Book Tokens

You may have received your £1 Book Token by now, don't forget to head to your nearest supermarket or bookshop to exchange it for a free World Book Day story. The voucher can also be used to redeem £1 off of a book you have had your eye on! Make sure you enter the competition on the token to be in with the chance of winning a family holiday to Heide Park in Germany.

Natalie Newman To Visit

Author of Lark the Shark, Natalie Newman, will be visiting our younger pupils on Friday afternoon with the latest story in her series of books. There will be the opportunity to buy a signed copy of Natalie's new book in the playground after school. See the blog post here for more information.

Throughout the morning, we will be completing a whole host of activities: Pass the Poem, Design a National Book Token, Create a Class Character, Guessing the amount of books in a box and taking part in the World Book Day Footy and Booky Quiz - just to name a few!

We will share our day of fun over on our Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the day.
