Reading Assemblies - The Smeds and the Smoos and Kid Normal

 

For the KS1 Reading Assembly this week, Mrs Ward shared Julia Donaldson's tale of The Smeds and The Smoos. From far-off planets, Bill from the blue planet and Janet from the red, fall in madly in love. However, Janet and Bill's families disapprove of their romance. The two prove that love conquers all and put an end to their families' war by bringing them the perfect bundle of joy - a purple SmedSmoo!

For the KS2 Reading Assembly this week, Miss McClenaghan shared Kid Normal. The story follows the life of Murph, who is accidently enrolled into Superhero school.

It's the month of KNOWvember!

It's the month of non-fiction KNOWvember in the library - a special time to highlight the vast array of wonderful non-fiction books that are available for children to borrow. 

There are books on many things, from animals to Ancient Egypt, forces to football, transport to tropical rainforests, and so much more!

There are also lots of topical books and encyclopedias all around the library, and the display board at the moment is full of many crazy and amazing facts!

 There is also a KNOWvember reading challenge that children can take part in!
