Year 4 Spinebreakers Visit Waterstones!

Yesterday, the Year 4 Spinebreakers visited Waterstones in Romford to choose a selection of new books for our school library.

They thoroughly enjoyed searching the shelves for some new releases. After a successful shopping haul, they browsed their purchases as they waited for their treat of hot chocolates and cakes in the Waterstones café.

Take a look at the books they chose:

Olivia was interested in the Tom Gates series, she liked the way the books were set out - packed with fun illustrations. Her second choice was ‘A Monster Ate My Packed Lunch’ by author Pamela Butchart. This story looked like a fun read!

Lucas grabbed a copy of David Williams’ ‘Code Name Bananas’. From the moment Lucas picked this one up he just couldn’t put it down! He has plans to read it during his holiday in the break. His second choice was by ‘Kid Normal’ author, Greg James, The Great Dream Robbery.

Karimah could have happily purchased all of the books on offer, but she finally picked her two favourites - Bunny vs Monkey, The Human Invasion; and Matt Brown’s ‘Aliens Invaded My Talent Show’.

Another Bunny vs Monkey story, Eleni loved the way these comic-style stories are jam-packed with colourful illustrations that grab the readers attention and make you want to keep on reading! ‘My Gym Teacher is an Alien Overload’ was Eleni’s second pick.

Flynn chose a non-fiction text surrounding the subject of football. His next pick was ‘The 26-Storey Treehouse’ by Andy Griffin and Terry Denton.

All of our new books are currently being read by our wonderful Spinebreakers, once they have returned them, they will be available to borrow from the library.
