Welcome to the Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter!
Each week, we will be bringing you a look back on the previous week in the library, including the fun that our lunchtime library clubs have had, new books, children's book reviews, library displays and much more!
~ Miss Flower and Mrs Jobber, Librarians & Reading Champions ~
Last week, our two Library lunchtime clubs had great fun making marvellous mini books!
Library displays
We celebrated Eid al-Adha in the library with a lovely display of relevant resources available to borrow.
New in the library
A recent addition to the library is the Library Wish List, where children and staff can add the details of any particular books that they are looking for to borrow. If we are able to locate the requested item, then it can be collected from the Library Wish List Collection Box. This resource has proved very popular, with lots of requests being made and fulfilled!
If you have any books at home that you no longer need or your children have outgrown, please give them to your child to bring into the library. Thank you.
Book reviews
Emmy in Year 4 had a great time reading Wed Wabbit, which is on the Year 4 Books to Read list. She thought it was interesting and gave it 4 stars!
Visitors to the library
Last week, the Year 1 Chatterbooks group enjoyed their library session about Julia Donaldson's book Zog, where they completed a worksheet and listened to the story.
Spinebreakers
Last week, Aadya and Oliver, Ash class Spinebreakers, returned the Story Scrapbook to the library after Ash class in Year 4 had created some wonderful artwork on their chosen theme of George's Marvellous Medicine for their display. Aadya and Oliver then delivered the Story Scrapbook to Birch class in Year 6 for their turn. We look forward to seeing what Birch class will choose to do!
105 Books reading achievements
Well done to Olaf who has read five books and earned his Bronze Certificate.
Well done to Alexandra and Aiza who have read 10 books and earned their Silver Certificates.
Well done to Osman who has read all 15 books, earning his Gold Certificates and completing his tracker.
Well done to all!

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have had lots of lovely new books added to the library collection over the past couple of months but, unfortunately, many of them have been borrowed by children and never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
