Reading Assemblies - Two Firm Favourites!

Miss McClenaghan lead the Key Stage One reading assembly with a classic - Dick King-Smith's 'The Hodgeheg'. After attempting to cross the road, hedgehog Max, suffers a bump to the head, causing him to muddle his words. The story teaches us about road safety as Max tries to understand how humans cross the road. This book can be found on the Year 2 Reading Tracker.

Miss Hannan introduced the story, Stig of the Dump, to Key Stage Two. This modern-day classic is a firm favourite. The story follows bored schoolboy, Barney, who meets a caveman named Stig living in a rubbish dump. This book can be found on the Year 5 Reading Tracker.
