Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter - 26/10/26

Welcome to the Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter!
Each week, I will be bringing you a look back on the previous week in the library, including the fun that our lunchtime library clubs have had, new books, children's book reviews, library displays and much more!

 Lunchtime library club
Last week, the lunchtime Library Club children enjoyed designing their own monsters and making spooky bookmarks.

Book of the Week
The Book of the Week last week was A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond. Paddington Bear had travelled all the way from darkest Peru when the Brown family first met him on the platform at Paddington station. Since then, their lives have never been the same...for ordinary things become quite extraordinary when a bear called Paddington is involved!

Spooky season!
Spooky season arrived in the library last week, with lots of fun books to read and some scary additions!

There was also a fun reading challenge for children to complete over the half term holidays.

Blue Peter Reading Badge
Miss Flower was delighted last week to see that some of the library's super Spinebreakers have received their Blue Peter Reading Badges in the post.
Congratulations to Elyssa, Prisha, Moyo, Chalva, Elizabeth, Abshara and Hamza!

Black History Month Challenge
Lillian in Year 3 had great fun taking part in the Black History Month challenge, with a wonderful fact-filled poster all about Rosa Parks.

Broadford Library In Numbers - Autumn 1 term
It has been an extremely busy first half term in the library, with lots of groups, activities and fun taking place, and so many super readers enjoying the bumper range of books that the library has to offer! Read the latest Broadford Library In Numbers for Autumn 1 term here

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have so many lovely books in our library but, unfortunately, many of them get borrowed by a child and then never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
