Welcome to the Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter!
Each week, I will be bringing you a look back on the previous week in the library, including the fun that our lunchtime library clubs have had, new books, children's book reviews, library displays and much more!

Lunchtime library club
Last week, the lunchtime Library Club children enjoyed some spooky colouring.
Book of the Week
The Book of the Week last week was Mister Magnolia by Quentin Blake.
Mr Magnolia has only one boot. He has an old trumpet that goes rooty-toot. And two lovely sisters who play on the flute. But Mr Magnolia has only one boot...
One day, he receives a mysterious parcel, and at last Mr Magnolia can splash in the puddles with everyone else!
Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, the library Chatterbooks groups continued with Superbat. All of the groups had great fun designing their own superbats!
New display in the library - Recommended Read
We have a new 'Recommended Read' display in the library, where children can recommend a good book to everyone else.
Last week, Roza in Year 5 said that Ghostcloud by Michael Mann was perfect for ghost fans - she gave it 5 stars!
BHM Challenges
Some of our super readers had great fun taking part in the Black History Month challenges, with some really creative efforts.
New Books
Lots of new books were added to the library collection last week, much to everyone's great excitement!
Spinebreakers
Last Thursday, the Year 5 Spinebreakers enjoyed a fun trip to Harold Hill Library. You can read more about it here
If you have not already seen it, please read last the separate Library blog post all about our 105 Books To Read Before You Leave Broadford here.
Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have so many lovely books in our library but, unfortunately, many of them get borrowed by a child and then never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
