Year 3 Spinebreakers Visit Waterstone
Adefelowemi already had in mind what he wanted to buy - books by the talented Roald Dahl! He is a big fan on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and was keen to pick up Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. His second book was George's Marvellous Medicine.
Charlie had been busy at home prior to the visit making a list of books he wanted to look at. He knew that Kid Normal and the Rogue Heroes was a book he definitely wanted! His second choice was a little more challenging as he was torn between two, in the end he chose Dog Man Brawl of the Wild.
Mary Poppins was at the top of Lily's wish list so that was her first choice. Her next pick was Holly Webb's The Unwanted Puppy - both excellent choices.
After searching the shelves of Waterstones, the Spinebreakers were treated to delicious cakes and hot chocolates in Costa.

Years 4 Spinebreakers Visit Waterstones
Elliott went for a spookier tale, Stitch Head, which follows the story of a mad professor's forgotten creation as he steps out of the shadows into an adventure of a lifetime. Another adventurous tale - Cresida Cowell's How To Train Your Dragon, was Elliott's second story.
Summer was very excited to attend this special trip. She searched the many shelves in the children's area to find stories that appealed to her. One of her books was by author, Bella Swift. The story of an abandoned pug who is taken in by Chloe and her family at Christmas.
Hayden's best picks were, Toto the Ninja Cat and the Incredible Cheese Heist by TV presenter, Dermot O'Leary, and a book from the 'Zoe's Rescue Zoo' series - The Super Sloth.
The children were lucky to find a shelf packed with the World Book Day books, which are free when you use you book token! We had a pile of spare tokens, so after choosing their own book to keep, they also chose a selection for the school library. The World Book Day vouchers are valid until Sunday 31st March 2019. The books can be found in Waterstones, WHSmiths, Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys.
