Years 4 Spinebreakers Visit Waterstones

Our Year 4 Spinebreakers were the latest pupils to enjoy a trip to Waterstones last week. With World Book Day just a week prior, they were excited to get their hands on some new titles for the library!

Ameerah picked up Alesha Dixon's latest book in the Lightning Girl series, Secret Supervillain Vs Lightening Girl - jam-packed with adventure. Ameerah's second book was by Greg James and Chris Smith - Kid Normal, You Need Superpowers To Be A Hero.

Elliott went for a spookier tale, Stitch Head, which follows the story of a mad professor's forgotten creation as he steps out of the shadows into an adventure of a lifetime. Another adventurous tale - Cresida Cowell's How To Train Your Dragon, was Elliott's second story.

Summer was very excited to attend this special trip. She searched the many shelves in the children's area to find stories that appealed to her. One of her books was by author, Bella Swift. The story of an abandoned pug who is taken in by Chloe and her family at Christmas.

Hayden's best picks were, Toto the Ninja Cat and the Incredible Cheese Heist by TV presenter, Dermot O'Leary, and a book from the 'Zoe's Rescue Zoo' series - The Super Sloth.

The children were lucky to find a shelf packed with the World Book Day books, which are free when you use you book token! We had a pile of spare tokens, so after choosing their own book to keep, they also chose a selection for the school library. The World Book Day vouchers are valid until Sunday 31st March 2019. The books can be found in Waterstones, WHSmiths, Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys.

The new books will go on display this Friday. Please see Mrs McFarlane if you would like to borrow a copy.
