This week, our reading assemblies were lead by Mrs Green (KS2 assembly) and Mrs Nicholls (KS1 assembly). Each assembly started off with an introduction to a new book featured on the list of 105 Books to Read Before you Leave Broadford.
Mrs Green shared the introduction to Ted Hughes's 'The Iron Man', which can be found on the Year 5 Reading Tracker. Ted Hughes's gigantic metal robot appears out of nowhere, after being discovered by a young boy, Hogarth, he begins devouring farm machinery, until the farmers rise up against him.
Mrs Nicholls read Julia Donaldson's 'The Snail and The Whale'. This book can be found on the Year 1 Reading Tracker. A tiny snail with BIG enthusiasm and courage travels the world on the back of a humpback whale! We have purchased extra copies of each title, all of which can be borrowed from the library now.
