Years 5 and 6 Spinebreakers Visit Waterstones!

The last group to visit Waterstones in Romford were our year 5 and 6 Spinebreakers. They too were given the opportunity to choose two new books for our school library and were treated to hot chocolate and cake in Costa - only this time the Christmas range was in so they had some extra special tasty treats to choose from!

More about the books...

Ellie-Jo is a big fan of Dork Diaries so she was overjoyed to find a book that contained more than one story from the series! She also picked up a copy of My Sister the Vampire, these books have always been popular when our Spinebreakers who have visited Waterstones.

Like Ellie-Jo, Tiara also picked up a Dork Diaries book. Her second choice was Clover Moon by popular children's author, Jacqueline Wilson.

Harry Potter is always a favourite with the older children at Broadford so it was great to see Kiera pick out a copy of the Philosopher's Stone. With Christmas quickly approaching she also went for a book by Tom Fletcher, The Christmasaurus.

A Chrismas Carol was Tia's first choice. Her second book was, The Girl of Ink and Stars, a wonderful tale of magic, myths and an adventure into a forbidden forest.

Two action-packed books were chosen by Fitzroy. He went with Percy Jackson and the Greek God and Bear Grylls's, Gold of the Gods. Brilliant choices Fitzroy!

Plamen will be joining us on a trip to the cinema to watch Pete's Dragon, with that in mind, he picked two stories from the 'How to Train your Dragon' series, How to Fight a Dragon's Fury, and, A Hero's Guide to Deadly Dragons.

Aarhan's first choice was Goosebumps, The Book of the Movie. His second book was Tom Gates: Everything's Amazing (sort of).

Thank you to our very helpful Spinebreakers who have added some fantastic titles to our shelves! All of the books mentioned above are now available to borrow from the school library; take a look next time you visit!
