Reading Assembly - Summer Reading Winners Announced!
Mrs Hathaway read Marcus Pfister's 'Rainbow Fish'. Year 1 were excited to hear this story, as it was one of their favourites when they were in Reception. This book can be found on the Reception Reading Tracker. You can find a selection of colouring pictures to colour here.
We have purchased extra copies of each title, all of which can be borrowed from the library now.
Summer Reading Challenge
Get Caught Reading
We were delighted to receive over 100 photos of our pupils reading during the summer. Like previous years, choosing one winner and one runner-up per key stage was very testing! With so many fantastic photos to choose from, we finally made our decisions...
KS1 Winner: Wais and KS1 Runner-Up: Alice
Thank you to everyone who sent in a photo. It was wonderful to see pictures of so many children completing the Gadgeteers challenge too! If you haven't had the chance to see the entries, please head over to our Library Instagram page and check them out.
Spinebreaker Library Visits 22/23
We have planned some dates for the Spinebreakers to visit Harold Hill Library this academic year. The Spinebreakers will get the opportunity to read, borrow and review books. Please see the below dates for when Spinebreakers will be walking down to the library.

To celebrate their 8th birthday, Storytime Magazine have come up with a contest for children aged 4-9 years. The creators over at Storytime have put together a 'Create a Comic' Activity Pack. Within the pack, you'll find tips on how to come up with a story and how to sketch characters and settings. We have a stack of packs you can borrow from the library, alternatively, you can download the pack here.
Once all of the activities have been completed inside the pack, draw you final piece on the entry form and return it to the school library. The closing date for the competition is 30th November 2022. We will accept entries up until Friday 18th November 2022. Once we have received all of your entries, we will send them off together to be judged.
One lucky winner will be have their comic strip published in Storytime; win a bundle of books and a signed copy of 'Laika' graphic novel.
