Welcome to the Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter!
Each week, I will be bringing you a look back on the previous week in the library, including the fun that our lunchtime library clubs have had, new books, children's book reviews, library displays and much more!

Lunchtime library club
Last week, the lunchtime Library Club children enjoyed lots of football-themed activities to celebrate the Men's Football World Cup 2026 starting.
Book of the Week
The Book of the Week last week was Penpals Forever by CK Smouha and J Lindenberger.
Freddy the mouse is practising his skateboarding when a vast, white shape descends from the sky. It’s a huge letter from a science-loving elephant called Annabel! The two begin a correspondence in which they learn about each other’s very different lifestyle. One day, Freddy’s letters stop coming and Annabel must go to the big city to help him out of a pickle.

Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, library Chatterbooks groups continued with The Rainbow Fish. Everyone enjoyed getting creative with Rainbow Fish-themed activities.
Thank you so much to everyone who purchased books at our Book Fair last week. Together, your purchases enabled Miss Flower to buy
37 new books for the library!
These wonderful new books will be added to our school Library collection. We have lots of very excited children who cannot wait to start reading them.
Save the date - Broadford's Big Book Giveaway returns!
Following the great success of our first Broadford's Big Book Giveaway in March, we are excited to announce that we will be holding a second one after school on
Thursday 9th July!
Thursday 9th July!
Once again, we are asking for your generosity in donating any good-quality children's books. Please either give them to Miss Flower in the school library or your child's class teacher. We cannot wait to see you at the next event!
Library Displays
The library got ready for the exciting Men's Football World Cup 2026 starting, with a wide range of football-themed books available for children to borrow.

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have so many lovely books in our library but, unfortunately, many of them get borrowed by a child and then never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
