Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter - 27/01/25

Welcome to the Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter!
Each week, we will be bringing you a look back on the previous week in the library, including the fun that our lunchtime library clubs have had, new books, children's book reviews, library displays and much more!

Lunchtime library club
Last Monday, the children who came to the lunchtime library club got creative, making their very own Library Cards to use!

Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, the KS1 Chatterbooks groups continued listening to Stick Man. All the children enjoyed a variety of activities and joined in with a shared read.

The KS2 Chatterbooks groups enjoyed continuing with You Can't Take An Elephant On The Bus. There were lots of fun activities completed, including wordsearches, creative colouring and animal rollercoaster designs!

Book repair
We were sad last week to discover a book that had been returned to the Book Monster in a very bad state. Most of the pages were stuck together, the spine had been broken and the cover was very dirty. However, with some time and effort, the book is back to its best again, on the shelf ready to be borrowed!

105 Books reading achievements
Well done to Teodor, Meerab, Aiza, Adela and Gabi who have received their Bronze Certificate for reading five books.

Well done to Teodor, Meerab and Chloe who have received their Silver Certificates for reading 10 books.

Well done to Sophia, Layla and Meerab who have earned their Gold Certificate for reading all 15 books!

Well done to all!

You can find the books from the 105 Books list for your child's year group here

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have had lots of lovely new books added to the library collection over the past couple of months but, unfortunately, many of them have been borrowed by children and never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
