Lunchtime library club
Last week in the library, we celebrated Children's Book Week - an annual celebration of reading for pleasure for children of primary school age. This year marked the 100th Anniversary of Children's Book Week and the theme was “How Do You Book?” Our lunchtime library club enjoyed taking part in lots of activities, including making their own bookmarks.
Library displays
Take a look at our wonderful display in the library to mark Remembrance Day.
As part of our Children's Book Week celebrations, we had a lovely display of books showcasing lots of different types of genres, including science fiction, biography and legend.
New in the Library
We were very lucky, once again, to have been gifted more books from a lovely parent - this time, a wonderful set of Harry and the Dinosaurs!
Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, the KS1 Chatterbooks groups listened to the story Giraffes Can't Dance. They spoke about the importance of being kind and how everyone is good at different things. Each group enjoyed using giraffe masks and pretending to dance like Gerald.
The KS2 Chatterbooks groups all enjoyed a shared read of Tell Me A Dragon, before using their listening and recall skills to answer questions as a group about the story.
Book reviews
Lily in Year 5 recommended Dog Man Unleashed by Dave Pilkey. She said that it was very funny and silly, and gave it 5 stars!
105 Books reading achievements
Well done to Zaviyar, Matthew, Luna, Gabia, Mateo, Jackson, Sophia, James, Charlotte, Zayna and Eddie who have read five books, earning their Bronze Certificates.
Well done to all!

Urgent request - Returning borrowed library books
We have had lots of lovely new books added to the library collection over the past couple of months but, unfortunately, many of them have been borrowed by children and never returned to the library. Please can you check at home to see if you have any Broadford library books (stamped inside/Broadford logo attached). If you do, please pass them to your child to return to the library asap, where our Book Monster is waiting to eat them! Thank you.
