The Story Scrapbook has been on the move again!

The Story Scrapbook has been on the move again!

Every week, a different class around the school is delivered the scrapbook by two of our Spinebreakers. The class's task is to fill a double-page spread with work based on a book of their choice - this could be their end-of-day story or a class favourite. Classes can fill their pages with drawings, paintings, writing, collages - they just need to be creative and use their imaginations!

Last week, the Story Scrapbook was delivered to Pine class in Year 2. The class chose Let's Go For A Drive! as their theme and produced some lovely work!

Albie and Daisy, Pine class's Spinebreakers, returned the Story Scrapbook to the library for some photos. They then delivered it to Apple class in Reception for their turn.

We look forward to seeing what Apple class will choose to do!

Welcome to the Broadford Library Weekly Newsletter!
Each week, we will be bringing you a look back on the previous week in the library, including the fun that our lunchtime library clubs have had, new books, children's book reviews, library displays and much more!

Lunchtime library club
Last week in the library, our lunchtime club got creative, making some lovely Mind Maps ready to start designing their own Comic Books. We cannot wait to see the finished comics.

Library displays
Our KNOWvember display has proved very popular, with lots of children (and adults) enjoying reading all of the facts! We have lots of informative non-fiction books, packed with interesting facts and information about anything and everything, which children can also borrow.

We also have a great selection of Disney books in the Library for children to borrow. Please come and take a look.

Chatterbooks sessions
Last week, the KS1 Chatterbooks groups started listening to the story The Leaf Thief. The children were very excited when they saw the leaves falling out of the book. Everyone loved blowing the leaves out of their hands.

New KS2 Chatterbooks groups started enjoying fun Mr Men and Little Miss themed sessions, while listening to Mr Men: The Great British Tour. Everyone had a great time working together to answer questions about the story and using their imaginations to design their own Mr Men/Little Miss!

Book reviews
Some of our children have been thoroughly enjoying reading Shakespeare classics, include Lucas in Year 4 who recommends Hamlet and Macbeth.

Spinebreakers
Last week, our Year 5 Spinebreakers had a very productive trip to Waterstones in Romford where they purchased lots of wonderful new books for the library.
