Reading Assemblies - This week the children have looked at bodies and heard voices!

On Monday this week Miss Hurrell read The Human Body to our KS1 pupils and discovered the secrets of the human body. Within this book readers can see muscles flex as a football is kicked, watch food travel through the digestive system as an apple is eaten, and take a peek at the skeleton holding a small boy upright while his height is measured. This title can be found on the Reception 105 book tracker.

During the KS2 assembly Miss Munnelly read Voices in the Park by Anthony Browne. In this story we hear four different voices tell their own versions of the same walk in the park. The radically different perspectives give a fascinating depth to this simple story which explores many of the author's key themes, such as alienation, friendship and the bizarre amid the mundane. This book can be found on the 105 reading books year 3 tracker.
