With the start of a new term, we seethe return of our weekly Reading Assemblies again. Our reading assemblies are used to promote the texts featured on the '105 Books to Read Before you Leave Broadford' list and celebrate the reading successes across the school.
This week, KS1 were lucky enough to attend two reading assemblies. The first one (on Friday) was lead by Mrs Nicholls. Julia Donaldson's text, Tyrannosaurus Drip, was the book shared. This book can be found on the Reception Reading Tracker.
The second assembly was lead by Miss Myers. The story shared was 'Giraffes Can't Dance'. This book can be found on the Year 1 Reading Tracker.
Both books are now available to borrow from the school Library.
Miss Wyatt held the reading assembly for KS2. She shared Elizabeth Laird's 'The Fastest Boy in the World'. This story follows the hopes and dreams of eleven-year-old Solomon. Set in Ethiopia, he dreams of following in the footsteps of his heroes, the great athletes of the Ethiopian national team, by becoming a gold-medal-winning athlete. This book can be found on the Year 6 Reading Tracker.
