What a week! With the return of the Premier Reading League, we have seen an increase in pupil participation in all library challenges and tasks. Keep reading to the end of this blogpost to see who we celebrated during our reading assemblies this week.
Miss Kenealy read the opening chapter of Charlotte's Web. Did you know that E. B. White (the author of this story) actually owned a farm which he used as inspiration for the story, namely the red barn busy with animals. This book can be found on the Year 5 Reading Tracker.
Celebrating Library Achievements!
This week we have seen an increase in pupils participating in library challenges.
Well done to Aisha who completed the Black History Month Reading Challenge. We added the names of all of the pupils who took part and chose two at random - congratulations to Madalina and Layla whose names were chosen, they both received a copy of Alison Hammond's book, Black in Time.
Alice, Mateo, Noah, Tesha, Rohith, Maggie and Shivanshi all received Bronze Certificates for reading 5 titles on their 105 Books trackers. Vrisha was awarded with a Silver Certificate for reading 10 books.
Well done to Awwal for completing his Bookopoly Reading Challenge sheet.
And finally, a huge well done to Zuriel, Kenzie and Megan for reviewing three books using My Book Blog!
Keep those competition entries coming! Don't forget, we have a selection of the 105 Books available to borrow from our school library, alternatively, you can borrow them from Harold Hill Library.
Premier Reading League - Weekly Update
The Premier Reading League started last week. With over 130 pupils taking part across KS2, we thought it was important to share the top scorers of the week! This week's top scoring team, with 97, is Football Maders! Lead by Miss Evans, this team have been visiting the library non-stop to update their score.
